Dogecoin Smoked Its All-Time High After Snoop Dogg endorsed the crypto currency.
DOGE also jumped four places on the list of most-valuable cryptocurrencies to No. 7.
The price of dogecoin (DOGE) soared more than 55% Sunday, setting a new all-time high, after Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg joined Former DOGE CEO, Elon Musk, Kevin Jonas and Kiss rock star Gene Simmons in a dogecoin tweeting frenzy.
The price of the cryptocurrency skyrocketed to new all time records as a result. Doge started trading around $0.056 at the beginning of the day and rose to $0.0872 Sunday afternoon before settling back to $0.084, up 55%, in the last 24 hours, eclipsing the all-time high of $0.078 set late last month. Year to date DOGE is up more than 1,380%. More than Bitcoin and every other currency.
On Saturday, Snoop Dogg tweeted out the following:
Shortly after, Elon Musk tweeted a Lion King-inspired picture of himself holding up Simmons holding up Snoop Dogg who in turn is holding up a Shiba Inu.
"Gene Simmons was also included in Musk’s meme as the Kiss rocker had kicked off the current round of DOGE-pumping early Saturday morning with typical modesty, tweeting to the world that he is the “God Of Dogecoin.”
The Tweets resulted in shockwaves and caused dogecoin to rise four spots on the list of the most valuable cryptocurrencies into seventh place, racing past Bitcoin Cash (11), Chainlink (10), Litecoin (9) and BNB (8). DOGE now has a current market value of $10.8 billion.
Pop music star Kevin Jonas also joined the party, when he Tweeted Saturday evening."
No matter how dogecoin started out 8 years ago, there is no question that it's becoming a household name. Against all odds it is now a top 10 crypto currency.
